Recent polling shows One Nation gaining sharply on primary votes and preferred prime minister measures, fragmenting support across major parties and elevating Pauline Hanson while pressuring Labor and the Coalition. Anthony Albanese leads a second-term government facing challenges on cost of living, housing, and crossbench negotiations ahead of the 2028 election, with Angus Taylor as opposition leader. Multiple candidates hover near even odds because no single figure or party has consolidated a clear path to majority support, and leadership transitions or policy shifts on issues like tax reform and immigration could quickly alter positioning. Scheduled state by-elections and national surveys through late 2026 remain key near-term indicators for traders assessing momentum shifts.
