Cilliers Brink, the Democratic Alliance’s mayoral candidate and former executive mayor, leads trader pricing at 60.5% for the November 4 local government elections, ahead of incumbent ActionSA mayor Nasiphi Moya at 30.5% and lower-priced ANC and other contenders. Recent Ipsos and Social Research Foundation polls show the DA ahead in Tshwane at roughly 31-43%, reflecting voter reaction to coalition instability under the current ANC-EFF-ActionSA arrangement that installed Moya after Brink’s 2024 no-confidence removal. Brink’s campaign emphasizes anti-corruption measures, expanded private-sector roles in utilities, and completing infrastructure projects, while Moya’s “5 More Years” effort highlights service-delivery gains amid acknowledged coalition tensions and opposition attacks on governance and tenders. Traders appear to price the DA’s polling edge and historical coalition math as favoring a Brink return over fragmented opposition support.
