Lukáš Hájek leads the market for next mayor of Liberec at 53.5% implied probability because Starostové pro Liberecký kraj, the party holding the mayoralty for eight years, selected the current councilor and club chair as its independent candidate after incumbent Jaroslav Zámečník stepped aside. Municipal elections scheduled for October 9–10, 2026, will determine council composition, after which the new body elects the mayor; SLK’s established local organization and record on infrastructure, schools, and stability underpin trader pricing. Multiple challengers, including Tomáš Rec, Jiří Veselka, and Tibor Batthyány of the newly formed Libe! coalition of smaller parties, keep probabilities for alternatives clustered near even-money levels amid a fragmented field. Recent party decisions to contest without prior coalition partners and the emergence of issue-focused alternative lists have maintained the tight contest, with council negotiations after the vote the key variable that could shift outcomes.
