Recent polling indicates Democratic candidates hold notable edges among women voters heading into the 2026 midterms, with generic ballot leads of 6–18 points in multiple surveys and sharp drops in Republican presidential approval among females from June to August. Older women remain a competitive bloc, with preferences shaped by priorities such as Social Security, Medicare sustainability, healthcare costs, and economic conditions. These factors have contributed to modest Democratic gains or parity in some older female subgroups compared to prior cycles, though overall senior voters continue to show more balanced or Republican-leaning patterns. Trader consensus at 73.5% for Democrats reflects these gender-specific trends and recent approval shifts, while the 25.5% Republican share accounts for persistent support among portions of the 50-plus female electorate on traditional issues. Scheduled fall campaigning and further economic data releases could influence turnout dynamics in this demographic.
