Chargers hold the edge in trader consensus for the season series due to Jim Harbaugh's proven coaching stability and a more complete roster built around Justin Herbert, while the Raiders enter a transition year under new head coach Klint Kubiak with Kirk Cousins at quarterback. The two AFC West matchups—Week 2 at SoFi Stadium and Week 14 in Las Vegas—feature teams with recent division struggles, but the Chargers' defensive depth and offensive continuity create a meaningful advantage over Las Vegas's rebuilding effort and notable injury setbacks, including the season-ending loss of rookie edge rusher Keyron Crawford. A split remains plausible given divisional familiarity and home-field swings, though Raiders underdog status reflects their thinner depth and ongoing roster adjustments entering the regular season.
