Nico Collins enters the 2026 NFL season as the Houston Texans' undisputed top wide receiver opposite quarterback C.J. Stroud, positioned for elevated target volume after injuries sidelined key depth pieces. Jayden Higgins suffered a season-ending knee injury in training camp, while Tank Dell begins the year on injured reserve with a knee issue and is expected to miss at least the first four games. Collins posted 71 receptions for 1,117 yards and six touchdowns across 15 games in 2025, building on three straight 1,000-yard campaigns, and recent contract adjustments have secured his role through 2027. Analysts project him for roughly 85-95 receptions in a 17-game slate, reflecting his high share of air yards and red-zone looks in a pass offense that remains relatively low-volume overall. Durability remains a factor, as the 27-year-old has yet to complete a full 17-game regular season.
