This market will resolve to the player who wins the 2026 American League Comeback Player of the Year award for the 2026 MLB Season. In the event of a tie, this market will resolve according to the official winner as determined by MLB rules. If multiple winners are announced then this market will resolve to the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. If the 2026 MLB season is cancelled, postponed after December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET, or there is otherwise no winner declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from Major League Baseball; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Yordan Alvarez's dominant 2026 campaign after missing most of 2025 with a fractured right hand and ankle injury has driven overwhelming trader consensus toward an 86% implied probability for the AL Comeback Player of the Year award. The Houston Astros designated hitter leads the American League in batting average, home runs, and RBIs while posting an elite OPS and nearing a Triple Crown, with consistent availability across roughly 140 games. This production far exceeds typical comeback thresholds and overshadows candidates such as Gerrit Cole, recovering from Tommy John surgery, and Mike Trout, managing a long injury history. Late-season developments like a sudden Alvarez slump, unexpected strong finishes from other AL players with prior limited availability, or voter emphasis on specific narrative elements could still influence the Baseball Writers' Association of America outcome.
