Rising memory and storage component costs, driven by surging AI infrastructure demand, represent the main factor behind expectations for higher iPhone 18 Pro pricing, with analysts from TrendForce, IDC, and others forecasting a $150–$200 increase over the iPhone 17 Pro’s $1,099 starting price. This would place the base 256GB model in the $1,249–$1,299 range, reflecting bill-of-materials jumps of up to 38% year-over-year and Apple’s need to protect margins after similar June price hikes on Macs and iPads. Apple CEO Tim Cook has acknowledged these pressures as unavoidable, though the company may absorb some costs to maintain competitiveness against Android flagships. The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max are slated for unveiling at Apple’s September 8 or 9 event, alongside a much pricier foldable model, giving traders a narrow window before official pricing resolves the market.
