This market will resolve to “Yes” if Anwar Ibrahim ceases to be Prime Minister of Malaysia for any period of time between market creation and the specified date (ET). Otherwise, this market will resolve to “No”. An announcement of Anwar Ibrahim's resignation/removal before this market's end date will immediately resolve this market to "Yes", regardless of when the announced resignation/removal goes into effect. If the specified individual is detained, effectively removed from the specified position, or otherwise permanently prevented from fulfilling the duties of the specified position within this market’s timeframe, it will qualify for a “Yes” resolution. The resolution source for this market will be official information from Anwar Ibrahim and the government of Malaysia; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.Anwar Ibrahim remains Malaysia’s prime minister at the head of a unity coalition that holds a parliamentary majority, with the next general election due no later than early 2028. Recent state election losses in Johor and Negeri Sembilan have exposed eroding support for his Pakatan Harapan bloc and heightened tensions with Barisan Nasional partners, prompting Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi and opposition figures to press for an early poll. Anwar has stated he is open to considering a snap election but will decide the timing himself before seeking dissolution from the King, while prioritizing cost-of-living measures and anti-corruption efforts. Internal party defections, modest approval ratings near 52 percent, and rival Malay-focused alliances have increased uncertainty about coalition durability, directly shaping trader assessments of the probability that he leaves office before the full term ends.
