The early stages of the Apertura 2026 in Guatemala’s Liga Nacional keep the title race wide open, with Antigua GFC and Municipal tied atop the table on 15 points after six matches while Deportivo San Pedro sits third on 12. Multiple clubs, including Xelajú MC, Mixco, Guastatoya, Comunicaciones, and Marquense, remain within striking distance after seven rounds, reflecting broad parity across the 12-team field. Recent results show no dominant side, as home and away splits remain competitive and several teams post strong defensive records or timely wins. The playoff-style liguilla format further compresses probabilities, allowing clubs with solid recent form or historical pedigree to stay in contention regardless of minor early deficits. Trader consensus around 47.5–50% for the leading contenders mirrors this balanced landscape before schedule congestion and potential injuries intensify later in the campaign.
