With just 5-7 matches played per club since the July start, no side has built a decisive defensive edge, though Lugano’s low goals-against rate and multiple clean sheets stand out alongside solid showings from Lausanne-Sport and Basel keepers. Key variables include goalkeeper consistency, defensive line depth amid fixture congestion, and how teams manage the later split into championship and relegation groups. Historical defensive records and summer roster adjustments further balance expectations, leaving the outcome highly sensitive to form over the full 30-plus matchdays.
