Kirk Cousins earned the Las Vegas Raiders' Week 1 starting quarterback role after a strong training camp and preseason in which he took nearly all first-team reps under new head coach Klint Kubiak. The veteran, entering his 15th NFL season, benefits from prior familiarity with Kubiak's system and was signed in free agency explicitly as a bridge to ease No. 1 overall pick Fernando Mendoza's transition. Official confirmation came September 2, with Mendoza slotted as backup and Aidan O'Connell third on the depth chart. Trader consensus at 97.1% reflects this settled depth chart ahead of the September 13 opener against the Miami Dolphins. An injury to Cousins or an unexpectedly rapid adjustment by Mendoza represent the primary paths that could alter the outcome before kickoff.
