The 2026-27 Primeira Liga season opens with an unusually open race for the most clean sheets, reflected in the near-identical implied probabilities clustered around 43.5–44% across more than a dozen sides. Preseason defensive organization, goalkeeper stability, and squad depth appear evenly distributed, with no club holding a clear edge in recent training reports or friendly results. Mid-table sides such as Braga, Vitória de Guimarães, and Santa Clara benefit from compact tactical setups and experienced backlines, while the traditional “Big Three” (Sporting CP, Benfica, Porto) face marginally higher expectations for attacking volume that could reduce shutout opportunities. Limited early-season data, combined with typical league parity in Portugal, keeps trader consensus balanced and prevents any single outcome from pulling ahead.
