Dortmund’s edge in the 2026-27 clean-sheet market stems from their league-leading defensive metrics in 2025-26, when they conceded just 34 goals and recorded 15 shutouts behind Gregor Kobel, the Bundesliga’s top keeper by that measure. Niko Kovac’s side has carried that organization into the new campaign, posting two wins from two with only two goals conceded while maintaining a compact backline despite early injury concerns. FC Augsburg sits close behind after a perfect start that included clean sheets against Schalke and strong results under Manuel Baum, bolstered by additions like Calvin Brackelmann and Finn Dahmen’s reliability. With Bayern, Freiburg, Mainz, and others also registering early shutouts and featuring experienced keepers, the long 34-match schedule leaves room for several clubs with comparable defensive structures and home advantages to challenge for the most clean sheets.
