The early weeks of the 2026-27 SuperLiga regular season have produced tightly grouped results across the 16-team field, leaving runner-up probabilities evenly distributed as no club has separated itself. Universitatea Craiova enters as defending champions with key reinforcements, while Rapid București, Dinamo București, FCSB, CFR Cluj, and Universitatea Cluj all sit within striking distance after the opening fixtures. The split-format structure, with points halved before the play-off round, amplifies the impact of mid-season form, fixture congestion, and squad depth. Recent transfers have narrowed quality gaps between traditional contenders and promoted sides, sustaining the market's view of broad parity for second place.
