Caitlin Clark and Alyssa Thomas enter the final stretch of the 2026 WNBA regular season tied at 8.4 assists per game, with Thomas posting 320 total assists across 38 appearances for Phoenix and Clark at 302 assists in 36 outings for Indiana. Their near-identical rates, driven by Clark’s high-usage playmaking in the Fever’s potent offense and Thomas’s efficient facilitation alongside strong rebounding on the Mercury, have kept the assists-per-game leaderboard razor-close all season. Lower-volume candidates such as Jordin Canada trail at 7.4 assists per game, leaving trader consensus tightly bunched between the two frontrunners with minimal room for late shifts absent injury or rest decisions.
