Caitlin Clark and Alyssa Thomas remain locked in a tight race atop the WNBA assists-per-game leaderboard at 8.4 apiece through early September, with Thomas holding a modest edge in total assists from more games played. Clark’s combination of high usage, 22.5 points per game, and efficient distribution for the playoff-contending Fever has sustained her narrow lead in trader consensus, while Thomas continues to anchor Phoenix’s offense as a veteran facilitator averaging strong rebounding and playmaking numbers. Jordin Canada sits a clear step behind at 7.4, with the rest of the field further back amid consistent starter minutes and team roles. No major injuries or roster shifts have altered the top two recently, keeping the implied probabilities centered on their ongoing statistical duel.
