This polymarket will resolve to "Yes" if Cristiano Ronaldo officially announces his retirement from club soccer by December 31, 2026, 11:59 PM ET. Otherwise, this market will resolve to "No". To resolve "Yes", the announcement must clearly state that Ronaldo is retiring from club-level professional soccer. The announcement must come from Ronaldo himself or his official representatives. Retirement from international soccer alone will not qualify. The retirement must be intended to take effect immediately or prior to the start of the next club season following the announcement. The primary resolution source for this market will be official statements from Cristiano Ronaldo; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used.**Cristiano Ronaldo’s comments and contract timeline anchor the strong “No” consensus at 89.3%.** In mid-August 2026, the 41-year-old told Vogue that the 2026-27 Saudi Pro League season with Al-Nassr is “probably my last year of football,” framing it as the campaign to chase 1,000 career goals while leaving a “spectacular legacy.” His deal runs through June 2027, and he has repeatedly signaled a desire to finish the year before stepping away to focus on family, travel, and padel rather than an immediate exit. Ronaldo remains fit and productive early in the 2026-27 campaign, scoring twice in his first few league appearances with no reported long-term injury concerns after a managed return post-World Cup. Al-Nassr’s title defense and his ongoing international commitments further align with completing the season rather than a mid-year retirement announcement. Historical patterns show Ronaldo has controlled his timeline tightly, and recent form plus the milestone chase make a 2026 declaration unlikely, supporting traders’ view that any formal retirement statement will come after the campaign concludes.
