In the 2026 Virslīga season, the race for the most clean sheets remains tightly contested due to the strong defensive showings from multiple sides amid roughly nine to ten matches left per team. RFS leads the table and clean-sheet count with a league-low 20 goals conceded in 27 fixtures, yet Riga FC and Auda sit close behind on both points and shutouts, while mid-table sides like Liepāja have posted occasional strong defensive efforts despite higher concession totals. The competitive balance stems from frequent matches against lower-ranked opponents such as Ogre United and Tukums 2000, where any contender can add shutouts, combined with recent results showing defensive variability and no team pulling decisively clear on this metric. Trader consensus reflects this parity in implied probabilities across the field.
