Carlsen captured the August 4 edition outright, while Nakamura maintains elite online consistency despite fewer 2026 titles. The tightly bunched field—dozens of GMs from Aleksei Sarana and Jan-Krzysztof Duda (recent winners) through Arjun Erigaisi, Alireza Firouzja, and rising talents like Denis Lazavik—keeps probabilities compressed because 11-round Swiss formats reward hot streaks amid high variance, with no single player exceeding low-20s odds in a deep, titled-only field.
