Early in the 2026-27 Betway Premiership, no side has separated itself for the full-season clean-sheet lead, leaving the market evenly balanced across all 16 teams. Several clubs have posted strong defensive starts, with Lamontville Golden Arrows keeping four clean sheets in four matches and Orlando Pirates conceding just once in five outings behind goalkeeper Sipho Chaine. Mamelodi Sundowns, Kaizer Chiefs, and AmaZulu have also shown organized backlines in limited fixtures, while mid-table and promoted sides retain realistic chances over the long campaign. Fixture congestion, squad rotation, and the typical variability in South African league scoring keep the race wide open, with trader pricing reflecting the absence of a clear defensive frontrunner after the opening rounds.
