Alex Palou’s dominant 2026 campaign, featuring six wins, eight poles, 12 top-fives, and 673 laps led for Chip Ganassi Racing, produced an insurmountable points lead that allowed him to clinch his fifth IndyCar title and fourth consecutive championship with one race remaining at Laguna Seca. Trader consensus at 100% for Palou reflects this record-setting consistency across road, street, and oval events, plus his unmatched recent form that has distanced him from challengers like Christian Lundgaard, Kyle Kirkwood, and Pato O’Ward. Only unforeseen developments such as a points-system anomaly or post-season adjustment could alter the outcome at this stage.
