Denny Hamlin enters the 10-race NASCAR Cup Series Chase as the clear regular-season points leader and top seed after a dominant campaign with four wins, 880 laps led, and the series-high Driver Rating. His Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota has shown particular strength on intermediate ovals that feature heavily in the playoff schedule, supporting his 36.5% implied probability. However, the points-reset format and loaded field—featuring Ryan Blaney, Tyler Reddick, Ty Gibbs, Christopher Bell, and Chase Briscoe—create tight margins, with recent form, pit-road execution, and track-specific matchups able to shift momentum quickly among the top contenders. Trader pricing reflects this balance, where Hamlin holds the edge but no single driver is viewed as dominant over the full postseason stretch.
