This market will resolve to the player who wins the 2026 MLS Defender of the Year award. In the event of a tie, this market will resolve according to the official winner as determined by MLS rules. If multiple winners are announced then this market will resolve to the player whose listed last name comes first alphabetically. If the 2026 MLS season is cancelled, postponed after December 31, 2026 ET, or there is otherwise no winner declared within that timeframe, this market will resolve to “Other”. The resolution source for this market will be official information from Major League Soccer; however, a consensus of credible reporting may also be used. The tightly bunched probabilities in the MLS 2026 Defender of the Year market reflect a wide-open race with no dominant center back separating from the pack through early September. Multiple candidates including Christopher McVey, Adilson Malanda, Michael Boxall, and others post comparable figures in clean sheets, aerial duels, progressive passes, and tackles while anchoring competitive back lines for their clubs. Strong team defensive units across the league, combined with consistent individual form and limited standout statistical separation, sustain the even pricing. Late-season developments such as injury recoveries, fixture congestion, and playoff implications could still shift momentum among the field before the November award announcement.
