The 2026–27 A-League Men campaign opens in mid-October with all twelve clubs entering on equal footing after a full off-season of roster turnover, new signings, and coaching adjustments. No matches have been played, so recent defensive metrics from the 2025–26 season—where Sydney FC, Auckland FC, and Melbourne City posted the strongest clean-sheet totals—offer only loose historical context. Trader pricing clusters tightly because clean-sheet leadership hinges on variables that remain fluid: goalkeeper stability, back-line cohesion, set-piece organization, and early-season fixture difficulty. With every side possessing realistic paths to defensive improvement or regression, the market reflects broad parity rather than any single frontrunner.
