**In the Venezuelan Primera División (Liga FUTVE) 2026 season, the runner-up market remains tightly bunched because the split Apertura-Clausura format plus playoff stages create multiple viable paths for a large group of clubs.** After the Apertura phase concluded with Deportivo La Guaira, Metropolitanos, and Deportivo Táchira near the top of the aggregate table, the ongoing Clausura first stage (as of early September) shows similar parity: Táchira and Metropolitanos lead on 16 points from seven matches, closely followed by Academia Puerto Cabello (14) and La Guaira (13), with Portuguesa, Estudiantes de Mérida, Carabobo, Monagas, UCV, Caracas, and others within striking distance on points and goal difference. Recent match results, including high-scoring draws and narrow wins, underscore inconsistent form across the league rather than sustained dominance by any single side. Depth in attacking options, solid defensive records for several mid-table teams, and the absence of major injuries or suspensions affecting frontrunners keep implied probabilities clustered, reflecting trader consensus on the league’s overall competitiveness and the realistic chance any of the listed sides could finish second overall depending on late Clausura results and knockout outcomes.
