The 2026 Campeonato Brasileiro Série B features a tightly contested battle for runner-up, with Juventude, Criciúma, Vila Nova, Novorizontino, and Fortaleza clustered near the top after 25-26 rounds and separated by just a handful of points. Recent results, including Criciúma’s strong run and Athletic Club’s emphatic win over Vila Nova, have kept several sides in striking distance of the promotion spots while mid-table teams like Sport and Náutico maintain unbeaten streaks that sustain their implied probabilities. This depth of competition, combined with the points-based format and remaining schedule, leaves the second-place outcome highly uncertain among the leading group.
